Snap Gauge Points : Snap Gauge, Definition Snap gauge is use in the measurement of plain external dimensions, consists of a U-shaped frame have jaws equipped by proper gauging surfaces. A plain gauge has two parallel jaws or anvils which are prepared to some standard size and cannot be adjusted. This kind of gauge is largely being replaced by adjustable gauges which give means of changing tolerance settings or adjusting to wear. Most gauges are provided by the “go” and “not go” feature in a single jaw, such a design being together suitable and fast. It is light in weight, sufficiently rigid, easy to adjust provided by suitable locking means and is intended to permit interchangeability of as many of the parts as feasible.
