Efficiency of a Riveted Joint Points : Efficiency of a Riveted Joint Efficiency of riveted joint is clear as ratio of strength of riveted joint to strength of the un-riveted or solid plate.
Strength of the riveted joint = Least of Pr, Ps and Pc
Strength of the un-riveted or solid plate per pitch length, P = p × t × σ t

Efficiency of the riveted joint,
Π= Least of of Pt, Ps and Pc/P X t X σ t
p = Pitch of the rivets,
t = Thickness of the plate, and
σt = Permissible tensile stress of the plate material.
