Types of Riveted Joints

Types of Riveted Joints Points : Types of Riveted Joints Follow are the two types of riveted joints
1. Lap joint
2. Butt joint
1. Lap Joint Lap joint is that in which single plate overlaps the other with two plates are then riveted jointly. 2. Butt Joint Butt joint is to in which main plates are kept in position butting all other with a cover plate is located also on single side or on equally sides of main plates. Cover plate is then riveted jointly by main plates. Butt joints of following two types
a. Single strap butt joint
b. Double strap butt joint
a. Single Strap Single strap butt joint, the ends of main plates butt beside each other with simply one cover plate is located on one side of main plates with then riveted jointly. b. Double Strap Double strap butt joint, the ends of main plates butt beside each other with two cover plates are located on both sides of main plates and then riveted jointly.
