Pumps Points : Pumps, Types of Pumps The pump run at constant speed, usually by an electric motor, takes the oil from the supply reservoir and delivers it at sufficient volume and pressure to do the work required. Types of Pumps There are three types of pumps, namely the
1. Gear pump
2. Vane pump
3. Plunger pump
The gear and vane types shown are constant delivery (constant volume) pumps and the plunger pump is of the variable-delivery (variable volume) type. Many modifications of these types of pumps are built by the different makers, and each is made in variety of sizes.
