Angular Indexing

Angular Indexing Points : what is Angular Indexing This kind of indexing is done about the same as simple indexing, the exception being that the work must be indeed through an angle rather than a certain number of divisions. With the usual ratio 40 turns of the crank are required to rotate the spindle one revolution that is 360 degrees in one complete circle there are 360 degrees). So if crank is moved through one turn, the spindle will move 360/40 = 9 degrees or 540 minutes or 32,400 seconds of an arc on the 40 to 1 ratio dividing head. So to find the number of crank turns to index a given angle divide by 9.
