1. Metal Planes Metal planes serve the same purpose as the wooden planes but facilitate a smooth operation and better finish. The body of the metal plane is made from a grey Iron casting, with the side and sole machined and ground to a bright finish. A lever is used for adjusting the blade at right angles. 2. Router Plane Router plant does not look like other planes. It is use for cleaning out and level the base of grooves or trench to stable depth, after the bulk of the devastate matter has been taken out by saw and chisel. 3. Smoothing Plane Smoothing plane is too similar to a jack pianist smaller in length. Its length is 21 to 25 cm and width of the blade is 6 cm. it does not have any handle but its two sides are curved and edge round, thin surfaces canister be plan by it very simply due to its smaller size. It completes the residual work of the jack plane. 4. Rebate Plane Rebate plane is an alcove the length of the edge of a piece of wood, this form a shelf which is use for position glass frames and doors. Rebate plane is use for plummeting one surface under one more and shouldering one piece into any more. Blade is open at equally sides of the planes and has to be entirely straight at the cutting edge by range as of 12 to 50mm. 5. Plough Plane Someplace a panel is required in a door it is use to fit keen on a groove, not into a refund. The plough plane is use to cut these grooves width series 3 to 15mm. 6. Jack Plane A Jacks plane consists of a body on 40 cm longhand blade 5 cm to 6 cm wide. It is widely used in carpentry for rough work. The sides of the cutting edge of the blade are made round which make the rough planning easy. Approximate size of the work piece is made by this plane after which trying plane is used. Jack planes are useful for training purpose. 7. Trying Plane Trying Plane is used after the jack plane to create the work piece of correct size and of smooth surfaces. It is just like a jack plane but having the handle of closed type. Its length is 50 to 70 cm and width of the blade 5.6 to 6 cm. Due to its larger length the surface is planed very smoothly. Its cutting edge is straight and sharp by which tine planning can be complete. 8. Spoke Shave Plane This is a shape of small plane use for cleaning up fast curve. There are two type, one which has a flat sole for outside curve and one which has a curved sole intended for inside curve. 9. Boring tools Boring tools are frequently necessary to make round holes in wood and they are selected according to that types and purpose of the hole.
