• Buzzer at the receiving end Circuit Electric battery is connected through a tapping key called transmitter to an electric buzzer called receiver by an electric wire, which is earthed at both the ends. Working or Transmission of Message When tapping key is pressed a current flows through the electromagnet and the bar of buzzer attracted towards the electromagnet. This breaks the circuit and spring pulls the bar back to the contact point and current again start to flow. Thus by pressing the tapping key the iron bar vibrates and producing a buzzing sound. Telegraphic Message Telegraphic message is sent in International Morse Code consists of dots and dashes which are produced by pressing of tapping key. A short interval is called dot and a long interval is called dash. Disadvantage This mode of communication is very slow and time consuming. It entails experts having complete information of International Morse Code.
