Front Axle
Front Axle use for steering front wheels conceded on stub axles swiveling upon king pins at the axle’s extremity. Steering arms and a track rod connect the two stub axles together for swiveling them by a steering wheel concerning the king pins. The steering wheel connected to one of the stub axle by a shall, a gear box and a suitable linkage is operate by the driver’s hand wheel.
Rear Axle
Rear Axle is used for setting up rear wheels, a tube like shaft enclose driving shells with inappropriate bearings for rotating the wheels is use. It is inflated at the centre for enclose the final-drive gears use for if major speed decrease between the engine and the driving wheels. The alter of direction of drive as of the fore and aft line of the propeller shaft to the transverse line of the axle shafts is also provide by this tube identified as Rear axle.
Propeller Shaft
Propeller Shaft is used for between the output shaft of the gear box to the rear axle, a long shaft identified as propeller shaft is use. Shaft is also with this in a tabular casing or kept exposed or opens with a universal combined fitted at each for allow the change in the shaft position with the rise and fall of the rear axle due to road surface variation.
Power Unit
It consists of an internal combustion engine. It is frequently mount at the point end of the car. The clutch and the gear box are placed immediately behind it. The three mechanism, engine, clutch and gear box are assembled into a single unit.
The Suspension System
The unusual parts are close to the essential structure by resources of spring suspension system. This system is used to stop the road shocks to the variety of vehicles mechanism and the occupants and to protect constancy under various road conditions. There are two distinct types of suspension systems (a) the conventional system, where the road springs is attached to a rigid beam axle. It is typically used in the front axle of the profitable vehicles and for rear axle of all type of vehicles (b) the sovereign system; in this classification there is no rigid axle. Every wheel is free to go upright with no any response on its mating, wheel. This is mostly used in tiny car rear axle deferment.
Axles
There is the kind of beams support at the ends whether it be front or rear. The mass transport portions of the axles are loaded at two middle points (the spring centers). They are usually subjected to a vertical weight at the spring centers due to the weight of the vehicle, a side thrust at the radius of the tires due to centrifugal power while moving along a curve, a fore and aft load at the wheel centre due to driving or braking effort and the torque reactions due to drive or brake. The front axle is a simple section forging transport the king pin at its outer ends. The rear axles are of three distinct types-the fully floating, the three district floating and the semi-floating.
Clutch
It is a resistance type uncoupling device. It consists of a single steel disc faced with appropriate friction material. It is clamp among two surfaces straight obsessed by the engine. For disengage the clutch, the two surfaces are absolutely alienated by urgent the clutch pedal. The major function of the clutch is to take up the drive easily from the engine and to liberate or disengage that drive when desired. The disconnection of clutch is required as altering the gear or bringing the vehicle to rest.
Gear-box
It consists of different types of gears which are continually in mesh. The gear change are complete by sliding the dogs. The main function of the gear-box are to give the necessary difference to the torque by the engine to the road wheel according to operating situation. The necessary variations are providing due to the incidence of dissimilar gears ratio amid a variety of meshing gears.
The differential gear
Differential gear carry the power from the propeller shaft to the rear wheel axles. It help the two rear wheel to turn at dissimilar speed when rounding curve. The outer wheel must over-run the inner wheels while taking a turn. The differential gear also ensure that the last output torque is equally dispersed between the two wheels without any thought of their relative speeds.
