Hard Steering Points : Hard Steering wheel, causes, Problems When a steering wheel needs more effort to turn than normal it is said to be a hard steering. This can be caused by problems with steering gearbox, rack and pinion steering gear, power steering components, ball sockets and suspension system. Power steering systems normally suffer from hard steering Problems. Fluid level in the power steering pump reservoir should he checked. If found low, inspect the system for leaks. Also check the power steering pump belt. If the bolt is slipping, barrel steering could result.
