Cylinder IC Engine

Cylinder Points : Cylinder, Dry liner, Wet liner The kindness of the engine is the cylinder where the fuel is burnt and the command developed. The inside of the cylinder is formed by the liner or sleeve. The insider diameter of the cylinder is called the bore. In most engines, the pistons bear directly on the walls forming part of the cylinder block, but in some, and particularly in engines with larger cylinders, removable liners are used. There are two types of these liners.
1. Dry liner
2. Wet liner
1. Dry Liner Dry liner is single which is in contact with metal block over its whole length or nearly its whole length. Water jackets are provided in the cylinder block. 2. Wet liner Wet liner is single which is supported by the block over narrow belts only and is surrounded by cooling water between these belts.
