Counter-balance may be forged or cast integrally with the crankshaft opposite the crankpin or may be separate weights bolted to the extension of the crank arm. Although, extreme care is exercised to secure possible balance but the vibrations cannot be overpowered completely. All cranks have one or more critical speed at which vibration period is setup.
