Sand Conditioning Points : Sand Conditioning Sand Conditioning process by which the moulding sand is made suitable for ramming in flasks is known as sand conditioning. The moulding sand should be properly conditioned before use to obtain good castings. In order to obtain good castings, the sand used for moulding must be correctly conditioned. Proper sand conditioning and preparation helps as follows:

1. The sand gets aerated, causing the and grains to separate and increasing the fallibility of sand.
2. The foreign particle is separated from the sand.
3. The binder is uniformly distributed around the sand grains”.
