Moulding Points : Moulding, What is Moulding Moulding usually involves placing a moulding aggregate around a pattern held within a supporting frame, with drawing the pattern to leave the mould cavity, setting the cores in the mould cavity, finishing and closing the mould. The mould is then ready for pouring. The term moulding process refers to the methods of making the mould and the materials used. The term casting process conveys a broader meaning, often including the moulding process, the method of introducing the metal into the mould cavity, or all the processes used in making the casting. Moulding consists of all operations necessary to prepare a mould for receiving molten metal. A good casting cannot be made without a good mould.
