Brinell Testing
Hardness Testing
1.Brinell Hardness machine uses bigger penetrator than Rockwell Machines.Rockwell Hardness tester uses smaller penetrates than the Brinell testers.
2.The standard Brinell test produces so large an impression that it is considered to be destructive test under some circumstances. It is more flexible than Brinell, a large no of combinations of indenters and loads made it more useful to test a wider range of materials.
3.This test is fairly slow because of the time required to measure the dia & to determine the Hardness. This test is faster than Brinell Hardness test.
4.I cannot be used for too Hard materials because ball indenter can be damaged. It can be used for very hard material because its ball inductor corn be danged.
5.Duration of applying load can be 15 to 30 seconds or even up to 60 seconds in some cases.Duration of applying major load is not more than 2 seconds.
