The end teeth do little cutting and help to remove chips and to produce a finished surface. One of the advantages of using shell and mills is that these cutter share cheaper to replace when worn or broken than are the face mills. The shell end mill cutters produce a finished horizontal and vertical surface on the work-piece at the same time.
