1. En sizes above 75 tonnes, the initial cast of steam jet system is competitive with vapour compression machines and operating cost is hardly 50% of the mechanical compression system.
2. Particularly useful to air conditioning installation because of the complete safety of water as refrigerant freedom from vibration and ability to adjust quickly to load variations.
3. Maintenance costs are almost nil, because the pumps are the only moving parts.
4. No moving parts
5. Very reliable.

Disadvantages

1. As compared with vapour compression system about two times heat must be removed from the condenser of steam jet unit per tonne of refrigeration.
2. The system is useful for comfort air-conditioning but it is not particularly suitable for water temperature below 4°C.
