Operation of Cooling System Gas Turbine

Operation of Cooling System Points : Operation of Cooling System Gas Turbine Power Plant The cooling system provides air from compressor extractions to cool turbine internal parts, seal the turbine bearings, and supply air from operation of control valves in other combustion turbine auxiliary systems. Air extraction are also used to supply air or pulsing the self— cleaning filters in the inlet air system. Cooling air is also provide from external centrifugal type blowers to cool the casing. Extraction connection from the compressor are piped to the turbine bearings to provide pressurized air to cool the bearings and help contain the lubricating fluid with in the bearing area. Orifices in the air supply times limit the air flow to the required amount. Some gas turbine units require centrifugal blowers that are located external to the gas turbine. These blowers provide cooling air to the turbine shell and the exhaust system.
