Types of Belts
Types of Belts
Points : Types of Belts, Flat belt, V- belt, Circular belt or rope,
While there are various type of belts use these days, thus far following are significant from
the focus standpoint:
1. Flat belt
Flat belt is generally use in factories and workshops, where a sensible quantity of power is to
be transmit, as of one pulley to a different when two pulleys are not more than 8 metres
separately.
2. V- belt
V-belt is generally use in factory and workshops, where a great quantity of power is to be
transmit, as of one pulley to a different, when the two pulleys are extremely close to each
other.
3. Circular belt or rope
Circular belt or rope is frequently use in factories and workshops, where a great total of power
is to be transmit, as of one pulley to a different, when two pulleys are more than 8 metres
separately.
If a huge amount of power is to be transmit, then a single belt cannot be enough. In such a
case, wide pulleys (for V-belts or circular belts) by a number of grooves are use. Then a belt
in every groove is providing to convey required amount of power as of one pulley to a different.
