Advantages and Disadvantages of Biomass Energy
Points : advantages and disadvantages of biomass energy, advantages and disadvantages of biomass power plant, merits and demerits of biomass energy, merits and demerits of biomass power plant
Advantages
- Using biomass as an alternate cause of fuel reduces our dependency on fossil fuels which is improved for the
planet and more cost efficient.
- Biomass is constantly available and can be formed as a renewable resource.
- It has developed as an interchange source of fuel for many homeowners and have help them to decrease their
dependency on fossil fuels.
- Because of more heat produced time required for cooking is minor.
- Growing Biomass crops generate oxygen and use up carbon dioxide.
- Biomass energy is comparatively cheaper and reliable.
Disadvantages
- Biomass boiler systems are usually larger than gas or oil boilers and need a separate storage area for fuel so
thus a large amount of space is necessary.
- Cost of construction of biogas plant is high
- Additional work is required in areas for example harvesting methods.
- Combustion of biomass products need some land where they can simply be burnt.
- Biogas plant requires space and produce dirty smell.
- Is in some cases is a major source of pollution.
