Die Casting Process

Die Casting Points : Die Casting Process, Hot Chamber, Cold Chamber Die casting is permanent-mold casting method in which molten metal is inject into mold cavity below high pressure. Usual pressures are 7 to 350 MPa. Pressure is maintained through solidification, after which mold is open and part is detached. Molds in this casting process are called dies; Thus name, die casting. Use of high pressure to force metal into die cavity is mainly notable feature that distinguish this process as of others in permanent mold type. Die-casting processes are carried out in particular die- casting machines. Present diecasting machines are planned to hold and correctly close the two halves of mold, and keep them stopped as liquid metal is forced into cavity. There are two major types of die- casting machines:
1. Hot Chamber
2. Cold Chamber
1. Hot Chamber Hot chamber die casting is one of two major methods in manufacturing process of die casting. This section will mainly discuss specific details of hot chamber process and contrast the differences among hot chamber die casting and cold chamber die casting, which is other branch of die casting manufacture. A comparable characteristic of also die casting method is use of high pressure to force molten metal during a mold call a die. Several of better qualities of castings manufactured through die casting, (for example great surface detail), can credit to use of pressure to make sure the flow of metal through die. In hot chamber die casting manufacture, supply of molten metal is attach to die casting machine and is an integral part of casting tools for this manufacturing process.
2. Cold Chamber Cold chamber die casting is a permanent mold metal casting method. Reusable mold, gating system and all, is working. It is mainly possible machined exactly from two steel blocks. Large robust machines are use to use great clamping force required to hold two halves of mold jointly next to the tremendous pressures exerted during manufacturing process.
