Principle of the Microscope
Points : Principle of the Microscope
If two magnifiers are place over the resultant method is identified as microscope.
First magnifier is call the eyepiece with the second the objective. The object AB is
placed in front of objective 0, with an actual image of it is formed at CD. This,
while view by the eyepiece E, appear at MN. The latter, which is virtual image, is
inverted as the eyepiece does not invert, while the image formed by the objective is
inverted. The efficient or ending magnification of a microscope is product of:
(a) Magnification of objective (primary magnification),
(b) Eye piece magnification (secondary magnification).
If objective magnify the object five times, with the eyepiece magnifies ten times,
then the effective magnification is 5 x 10 = 50 times.
Primary magnification = CD/AB
Secondary magnification = MN/CD
Effective magnification = CD/AB x MN/CD = MN/AB
