Compression Molding Process

Compression Molding Process Points : Compression Molding Process This process is a method of molding in which the molding material, commonly preheated, is first sited in an open, heated mold cavity. Mold is closed by a top force or plug, pressure is functional to force material into contact by every mold areas, as heat with pressure are maintain until molding material has cure. The method occupy thermosetting resins in a partly cured stage, also in form of putty-like masses, granule, or preforms. Compression molding is a high-pressure high-volume, method proper for molding compound, high-strength fiberglass reinforcements. Higher combined thermoplastics are able to also be compression molded by unidirectional tape, woven fabrics, chopped strand or randomly oriented fiber mat.
