Starting Sequence Gas Turbine Points : Starting Sequence Gas Turbine Power Plant, Power Station a. Turn Master Operation selector switch
b. Turn Master Control Switch to Start
c. Start will come on
d. Speed set point
e. Unit auxiliaries will be started, Auxiliaries on light will come on
f. Sequence in progress, light will come on
g. Ready to start and check lights will go out
h. The unit will ratchet continuously
i. Starting device will start. for starting purpose we can employ a diesel engine or electric motor to start the system
j. Speed relay indicating light will come on when the shaft breaks away.
k. When unit reaches 20% speed, the 1414M speed relay indicating light will come on m vice up will be set to firing value
l. Short up control indicating light will cone on
m. VCE will be set to firing value
n. Ignition sequence is indicated
o. When flame is established, the flame detector indicating lights will come on
p. VCE is set back to warm
Up-value. If the flame goes out during the 6O;ec tiring period. ‘ICE wilt be re set tiring value (At the end of he ignition period, if flame has not been established, unit will remain at firing speed. A thus time th operator may shut down the unit or attempt to fire again.
q. At the end of the warm up period, with flame established, VCE will begin increasing.
r. When the unit goes on temperature control the start up light will go out and temperature control light will come on.
s. When the turbine reaches 40% speed. the accelerating speed tight will come on.
t. The turbine will continue to accelerate and when it reaches about 60% speed, the darting device will disengage and shutdown.
u. As the turbine accelerates, the acceleration control light may come on.
v. When the turbine reaches 95% the operating speed relay (I4HS) indicating light will come on.
w. The lub oil pump will shutdown, since lub oil is being supplied by the shaft drive pump. The complete sequence light comes on.
x. battery voltage will be applied to the generator field and generator voltage will begins to build up.
y. Automatic synchronizing is initiated. The turbine speed is matched to the system (to less than 113 Hz difference) and when the proper phase relationship is achieved the generator breaker will close
z. The machine will load to the sated value unless a load control point has been selected with the capacity selector switch.
