Difference between Voltmeter and Ammeter | ||
---|---|---|
1. | In voltmeter a high value shunt is used. | In an ammeter a low value shunt is used. |
2. | Voltmeter is connected in parallel with circuit. | Ammeter is connected in series with the circuit. |
3. | In volt meter shunt is connected in series with the coil of galvanometer. | In ammeter shunt is connected in parallel with the coil of galvanometer. |
4. | It is used to measure potential difference between two points. | It is used to detect and measure electric current in a circuit. |
