Electric Circuit

Electric Circuit Points : Electric Circuit, Definition, Combination of Resistances, Series Combination, Parallel combination Definition Any closed path through which an electric current can flow is called an Electric circuit.
Combination of Resistances In an electric circuit resistances can be connected in the following two different ways.
1. Series combination
2. Parallel combination
1. Series Combination Resistors are said to be connected in series when they are connected end to end consecutively so that there is only one path for the flow of current and the same current flows through each resistor.
2. Parallel combination Resistors are said to be connected in parallel when each of them is connected between the two common points. The same potential difference acts across each of the resistor but the total current is divided among the resistors connected in parallel accordingly.
