Differentiate Tenon Saw and Compass Saw Points : Differentiate Tenon and Compass Saw Tenon Saw Tenon blade of the tenon saw is slim and of equivalent width. Back of the blade is mounting by a steel or brass strip, so that the blade might not bend as cutting. Its handle might be of closed or open type. Its teeth are smaller than those of the cross cut saw. The length of the blade is 25 to 40 cm and number of teeth per centimeter is 4 to 6. The saw might cut the wood crossways and along the grains. It is use for precise cutting and bench work. Mainly, it is use for cutting tenon, thus it is recognized as tenon saw.
Compass Saw A Compass saw of particular reason saws. Its blade is slim, tapered, thin and flexible and these teeth are like to those of cross cut saw. Blade is 20 to 45 cm long, 4 cm wide at handle and 2.8 cm wide at toe. Its handle is release type and may be replacing according to the work. Compass saw is use to cut curves and circles, together outer and inner.
