Classify Electrodes, and their Uses

Classify Electrodes, and their Uses Points : Classify Electrodes, and their Uses Electrode Terminal point to which electricity is brought in the welding operation and from which the arc is produced to do the welding, the electrode is usually melted and becomes a part of the weld.
Uses of Electrodes Two common systems for identify steel electrodes is use in the welding industry. The first is the color recognition system. The next system of identifying electrodes is use on covered arc-welding electrodes only it requires that the electrode classification number be imprinted or stamped on the electrode.
The welder has to study to identify electrodes and decide the type most suited for the job The Electrodes are chosen with the letter E, followed by four or five digit Exxxxx.
Letter E indicates to the rod is for arc welding. The next two numbers (if four digits are use) or three numbers (if five digits are use) multiply by 1000 indicate tensile strength of the weld melt in Psi. The next two last numbers show the position in which the electrode can be used (Flat, vertical, and overhead position) The last number indicates the electrical distinctiveness of electrode for example AC, DC, straight split or revise polarity tor the kind of current and the type of cover on electron.
