Ceramic Capacitors

Ceramic Capacitors Points : Ceramic Capacitors The construction of a ceramic capacitor, films of metal are deposited on each side of a thin ceramic disc and copper wire terminals are connected to the metal. The basis of the ceramic material is barium titanate or a similar material but other ceramic substances including hydrous silicate of magnesia or tale are also used. Ceramic capacitors have the smallest dimensions as compared to other capacitors due to high relative permittivity of the ceramic dielectric. They are available in the range of 1 pF to 0.1 uF and up to d.c. voltage of 1000 V. Their insulation resistance is rather low. They are used in transistor circuits.
