ORDINARY LIQUID - IN-GLASS THEROMETER:



CONSTRUCTION:
It consists of a graduated glass capillary having a small bulb at one end. The bulb and part of capillary is filled with mercury or dyed alcohol.
A temperature scale is marked on the glass stem to indicate temperature corresponding to various levels of Liquid in the tube.

WORKING:
When heated. the liquid expands and rises in the tube.

RANGE:
The liquid is glass thermometer commonly used in laboratory has temperature range of-10°C to 110°C.
