- It supports the weight of frame, body, engine transmission, drive line and passengers.
- The suspension allows the wheels and tires to move up and down with maximum movement of the vehicle body. Resultantly, passengers feel smooth and comfortable journey.
- On road turns when the vehicle is at speed it tries to roll out due to centrifugal force. Due to the suspension it turns rapidly without rolling out.
- When the tires encounter a jump or hole it tries to fly but suspension rejects this attempt causing the tire to remain in firm contact with the road.
- The body of the vehicle tries to tilt down at rear end when a accelerating or when there is a heavy load on the vehicle. The suspension system acts to prevent this body squat.
- The body of the vehicle also tries to tilt down at front end when braking. The suspension acts to prevent from this body dive.
- Due to the suspension system both front wheels can turn from side to side for steering.
- The steering system and wheels remain in correct alignment due to suspension system.
