Types of Electrodes

Types of Electrodes Points : Types of Electrodes, Kinds of Electrodes, Types of Welding Electrodes, welding electrodes and its types Electrodes can be separated in to the follow two types.
(1) Metallic Electrodes
(2) Carbon Electrodes (1) Metallic Electrodes Metallic electrodes are use in metal arc welding and are commercially manufactured in various sizes. It is classify into three types.
a. Covered Electrodes
b. Light Coated Electrodes
c. Bare Electrodes a. Covered Electrodes Covered electrode is a filler metal electrode which consists of a metal wire by relatively thick covering which provide protection for molten metal as of the atmosphere get better the properties of weld metal and stabilize. b. Light Coated Electrodes Light coated electrode is a filler metal electrode by a light coating functional ensuing to drawing operation. c. Bare Electrodes Bare electrode is a filler metal electrode which consists of a metal wise by no casting. (2) Carbon Electrodes Carbon Electrodes are use in carbon welding with are affected in diameter size ranging as of 3.82mm inch to 24.5m and 294mm long.
