Difference between Lead and Pitch

Difference between Lead and Pitch Points : Difference between Lead and Pitch Lead A Lead is the reserve, calculated parallel to the axis, among corresponding points on consecutive contours of the same thread helix in the same axial plane section and on the same side of the helix. In the case of single start screw thread lead.
Pitch A Pitch is reserve calculated parallel to the stuck between corresponding points on adjacent thread forms in the equal plane part and on the same side of the axis, i.e. from crest to crest or root to root. For a exacting uniform thread the pitch remains constant during the length of a thread.
