Points : Definition, Rectification, Types of Rectification, Half Wave Rectification, Full Wave Rectification
Definition
Rectifier is a device which converts alternating current (A.C) to direct current (D.C.).
Rectification
Definition
The conversion of alternating current (A.C) to direct current (D.C.) is called rectification.
Types of Rectification
Rectification is of following two types.
• Half wave rectification
• Full wave rectification
Half Wave Rectification
When D.C. voltage is obtained only for the positive half cycle of input A.C. Voltage, the rectification is called half wave rectification.
Full Wave Rectification
When D.C. voltage is obtained for both positive and negative half cycle of input A.C. voltage, the rectification is called full wave rectification.
