Semi-conductors: These are the materials whose electrical conductivity lies between conductors and insulators. N- type semiconductors: Material which is formed when a silicon or germanium crystal is doped with a pentavalent element (Arsenic) to form a batter conductor called n — type semiconductor. P - type semiconductors: Material, which is formed when a silicon crystal is doped with a trivalent element such as indium to form a batter conductor, called p — type semiconductor.
