Points : Steering Wheel Removal and Replacement
A wheel puller is used to remove a steering wheel from its shaft. After removing the horn button and
steering shaft nut, scribe alignment marks on the steering wheel and steering shaft. It will help you to
position the steering wheel in correct position during assembly. Screw the bolts into the threaded
holes in the wheel make sure that the bolts have the correct thread type. Using a wrench or socket,
lighten the puller down against the steering shaft.
Warning
Wear eye protection (goggle with transparent glasses) when tightening a wheel puller. If one of the
bolts were to break, bits of metal could fly into your face. Follow the service manual instructions to
replace the worn or damaged parts in the steering column. Assemble every thing in reverse orders.
