In planer machine too feed is give to cutting tool erratically and at end of return stroke.
Cross feed or horizontal feed is specified by moving the tool head beside the cross rail and it
is use for machining horizontal surfaces.
Down feed and vertical feed is certain by moving vertical slide of tool head by the help of
down feed screw of tool head. For machining work pieces of dissimilar heights, occasionally
longer vertical movement of the tool is required.
This is achieve by moving the cross rail up or down along the column way. Down feed is certain
when machining a vertical or angular surface.
